Youth Radio

Youth Radio is a program for kids ages 14-17 that teaches them the basics of broadcasting. Kids are taught by industry professionals using hands-on methods. I actually went to through one of the classes myself a few years ago. Not only are you taught how to write, use computers, and d.j. for the radio, but students are also taught how to critically evaluate the media. Perhaps the best part of Youth Radio, though, is that the classes they offer are FREE. These are classes that teach students the same things that other people (including myself) pay thousands of dollars to learn in college. Once submitted, your design will go onto the website for other people (aspiring designers and possible customers) to score and give comments. If the design receives enough points, it gets printed for people to buy and you get a prize along with your name getting out there. For those of you who are like me (consumers rather than designers), this website offers fresh new designs at affordable prices. Trust me...I'm a poor college student.
